Simple Flirtation

It's so simple...flirting. The eyes meet, a smile is exchanged, a heartbeat is quickened, hello's are communicated, someone blushes, one tells a joke, the other laughs, he makes himself comfortable, she looks away and twirls her hair, he rubs the back of his neck, compliments are given, and so on and so forth.

It's funny how easily it comes to us. You don't need any prior practice, lessons, or examples. It just happens. That's because it's pure human instinct...that and hormones. Our minds and hormones tell us that we are attracted to a certain person, the wish to flirt simply comes to us. (The wish? Flirtation doesn't come naturally?)No, dear reader...some people need help with flirting. There are some who are flirtation-challenged. That's the advice most people go to the internet for.(But...what did we do before that?) We asked the wonderfully worded questions, "Should I go talk to him/her?" "What should I say?" "Do you think he/she likes me?" "How's my breath?"

Before self-help books, magazine articles, newspaper columns, internet quizzes, and all that fun jazz, we merely asked friends. What else were we going to do? Yes, our desire to flirt is there, but some of us lack the skill. We go to close friends for advice because we don't want to, for lack of better terms, strike out.

If the other person shows no interest, don't worry. That's clearly not the person for you. Since the beginning of time we have been flirting, striking out, and making fools of ourselves. Yes, flirting can make some people look foolish. The best you can do with that is laugh it off and move on. (People went through that long before we did?) Look at you staying on topic!

Yes, flirting was done pretty much the same way as it's done now. With the exception of text messaging, Facebook, and the weird abundance of cheesy pick-up lines...though, I'm sure our ancestors had their share. But, it all really came down to charm. Everyone has their own way of being charming. If you find yours, congratulations. Use it and you will be just fine out in the scary world of flirtation and foolishness.

I guess the conclusion we can come to is: Times have changed, but, the foundation of our hormones will always be consistent.

It's Been a While

I am so thankful to have Internet! I haven't been on here in more than a month because of no Internet connection!
On the up side, I got to see my twin sister get married! The wedding was beautiful, all the decorations were put together so well, and she looked AMAZING! My wedding gift to her was a video I made to play at her wedding. No one was supposed to see it until the wedding took place, but when they started playing the video, there was NO SOUND! I was freaking out! My face went red and I apologized to both my sister and her hubs. Of course, I was assured that it wasn't my fault and I was promptly forgiven.
To make up for the sound, the pastor marrying them talked in the place of everyone in the video. It was pretty funny and also appreciated. But nothing could make up for the loss of the music. Without the music, it didn't bounce like I wanted it too.

Phone stuff

Yesterday my mom took me to sprint to talk to someone about switching to a different plan, because a lady at sprint told us that we were all due for an upgrade.
When we got there a guy was behind the counter and he said we were set for a plan upgrade, but since my phone was set as the primary phone, that I was the only one due for a device upgrade. So, my mom got my dad on the phone and told him what the guy said and my dad told my mom to switch my phone number with his so that he could have the upgrade.
That means I would have to tell everyone in my contacts that I got a new number, PLUS tell the business callers that my dad got a new number. I'll also have the same old phone I've had til' march of next year, while my dad gets a brand spankin' new HTC touchscreen.
Why does he get the exciting new phone? Because he has his own trucking business and he needs the Internet on it to connect with his laptop on the road.
That seems reasonable right? I mean he can't just stop at a gas station and use it's free wifi...he needs his own...
I know I'm being unreasonable. If he stops in the middle of nowhere ON the road where there is no Internet connection he'd need something to connect to. Plus, it would be cheaper to go with sprint because right now he has a Verizon Internet card, and sprint is supposedly faster and less expensive.
I'll admit...I'm jealous that I don't get a new phone and I don't want to give up my phone number.
